An experimental psychologist by training, Heike Martensen studied at the universities of Marburg and Bonn (Germany) and received her PhD from Radboud University, Nijmegen. She lives in Belgium and has also worked there for the past 20 years, mainly as a road safety researcher. In that context, she represented Belgium in different international Road Safety groups and played a leading role in several large-scale EC projects dedicated to the development of the European Road Safety Observatory (ERSO). At KiM, Heike focuses mainly on the analysis of travel behaviour.
