Toon Zijlstra studied urbanism at Avans University of Applied Sciences and Eindhoven University of Technology. After completing his studies, Toon worked for Rijkswaterstaat and the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment via the National Trainee Program. He received a doctorate in 2016 from the University of Antwerp for his analysis of the Mobility Budget’s prospects in Flanders, Belgium. Toon is experienced in the fields of cycling, public transportation, parking, choice behaviour, and data analysis. At KiM he is primarily involved in projects pertaining to public transportation. Additionally, he is a member of the Netherlands Mobility Panel (MPN) team.
